Leaf & Light is a Sarasota-based artisan studio with a clear mission: to create beautiful, eco-conscious, minimalistic giftables in Coastal, Beach, Island, and Tropical themes.
The coast speaks to something deep within us — a place of belonging, memory, and return. At Leaf & Light, we create thoughtfully handcrafted goods that honor this connection. Our work is grounded in both artistry and intention. Every piece is designed as a meaningful gift, blending natural inspiration with careful research into safe, eco-conscious materials.

The soul of Leaf & Light is built on a deep respect for the natural world. On our small family farm in Hawai‘i, we’re deeply engaged in preserving and restoring native ecosystems. Planting endemic species and tending to fragile island landscapes has shaped our understanding that true beauty comes from preservation, not extraction.
Leaf & Light was created with this specific principle in mind: to give more and take less. We practice intentional selection of components, prioritizing quality over quantity, so that every gift we create is unique, high-quality, and respectful of the environment.

HONORING THE SOURCE: PĀUA
We apply this mindset to our work with New Zealand Pāua shells. These iridescent treasures were collected between 15 and 20 years ago, either by beachcombing or as a by-product of carefully managed seafood harvests. By utilizing these existing materials, we are repurposing finite beauty rather than depleting natural resources.
Just as we respect the origin of the shell, we respect its composition. We never dye these natural materials or coat them in synthetic epoxies or varnishes. Instead, we allow the natural, luminous iridescence of the shell to shine on its own, unaltered and pure.
THOUGHTFUL BY DESIGN
At Leaf & Light, our commitment to clean, conscious craftsmanship goes beyond jewelry. It also lives in our home fragrance collection. Every detail — from the wax we pour to the vessels we choose — is guided by care, transparency, and years of hands-on experience. Our founder, a former chemist with a Ph.D. in Materials Science, crafts each formula with equal care for what’s left out as for what’s included.
We use only 100% soy wax, free from paraffin and petroleum byproducts, and we carefully select ingredients that are truly safe for you and your space — not just trendy or natural-sounding. Our candles are poured into recyclable aluminum tins — a deliberate choice that’s both lightweight and eco-conscious. Unlike most candle glass, which often isn’t truly recyclable, aluminum is both easily recyclable and widely accepted in curbside programs.
